A Day in My Town is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts, addressing Literacy.RI.K.3 and Literacy.L.K.1. Readers follow along as a young boy observes various activities on a Saturday in his town, such as car washing, shopping, bike-riding, pet-walking, and dancing. Readers are asked at the end of the book what they like to do while in their towns. This book should be paired with "Mike's Busy Neighborhood" (9781448887583) from the Rosen Common Core Readers Program to provide the alternative point of view on the same topic.
