Recognizing the controversial nature of hunting, the author discusses how, in the past, some animal populations were over-hunted to the point of extinction and outlines some measures taken today to prevent that problem. The photos are colorful and students will love the format. Often guns are associated with only crime and this is a way for students to see that by obeying laws and keeping safe hunting can be a rewarding sport. I would not hesitate to have this book in my library; I would like to have all the books in this series.
