Book review: Blinding Blizzards
I found the book Blinding Blizzards to be very educational as well as attractive for middle school readers. This topic is especially relevant to our 6th grade students because they discuss the dangers of blizzards during their general science class. The book covered various events involving blizzards such as: The Blizzard of 77, The Storm of the Century, and How to Prepare for a Blizzard. This book would be a good reference for middle school readers to use as it provides detailed facts with colorful authentic photographs and diagrams showing how snow forms and predicting blizzards. The table of contents, glossary (words appear in bold type the first time they are used in the text), and index were all easy to utilize.
