What Does It Look Like?
What Does It Look Like? is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts, addressing Literacy.RI.K.4 and Literacy.L.K.5. Readers are urged to identify objects that are depicted in a descriptive way, focusing particularly on size, shape, and color. Fun activities such as visiting a toy store and flying a kite are paired with descriptive text to illustrate the use of descriptive words. A graphic organizer is included for reinforcement of these three basic concepts of description. This book should be paired with “Describe It: Size, Shape, and Color” (9781448887552) from the Rosen Common Core Readers Program to provide the alternative point of view on the same topic.
