We Can Count!
We Can Count! is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts, addressing Literacy.RI.K.7 and Literacy.L.K.1. Counting to six is made easy with colorful balloons and a festive occasion. Full-page color photographs are paired with narrative nonfiction text, starting with one balloon and ending with six. Numbers are superimposed over the balloons so that readers can match numerals with written text. This book should be paired with “I Can Count My Blocks” (9781448886524) from the Rosen Common Core Readers Program to provide the alternative point of view on the same topic.
