The Decodables: Code Breakers (Nonfiction)
Code Breakers is a series designed to support readers who have mastered basic decoding skills and are moving into the later alphabetic and consolidated phase of reading. Through carefully selected words and high-interest topics, each book allows upper elementary readers the opportunity to practice advanced phonics patterns and morphemes with engaging, age-appropriate text. This set of 10 nonfiction decodable books focuses on developing readers' skills in reading words containing long vowel sounds, prefixes, suffixes, and multiple syllables while teaching them about space science topics such as planets and stars. Readers will gain confidence in their fluency skills while building knowledge as they progress through these beautiful, informative, and fun books. Includes a note to the caregiver and a word list organized by phonics/affix pattern.
