Hero or Villain? Claims and Counterclaims

Throughout history, there have been many controversial figures that divide opinion on whether they are considered a hero or a villain. This biography series will present an objective overview of the person at the center of the controversy and explore the complex and nuanced issues that illicit such opposing responses. Through understanding the historical context of their actions, as well as the arguments from both sides, students will be engaged to critically assess the layered and complicated responses to these prominent and divisive subjects.
Each Book Contains:
• A nuanced overview of the subject’s life, accomplishments, controversies, and legacy
• Informative, well-researched sidebars covering the individuals’ contemporaries, their reactions to the subject, areas in which the subject was most active, a timeline of the individual’s life, and/or the institutions with which the subject was/is associated
