Database Review: Digital Literacy

Meeting the needs of todays students in an increasingly digital world is a concern for just about every librarian and teacher. The site is attractive and uncluttered. Articles throughout are well written and carefully crated to resonate with middle- and high-school students.   Resources for teachers and librarians provide detailed information about curriculum correlations as well as lesson plans, online training, and an optional mechanism to monitor usage statistics. Its hard to judge which is more valuable herethe excellent article content or the impressive, practical hands-on activities. Overall, its simply great content that is highly recommended for school and public libraries. Rebecca Vnuk, Booklist

Database review:

Digital Literacy is aimed at high school students, but it can be a useful acquisition for college libraries as well. Important for teachers are the correlation features that link a subject to educational standards and grade level. Since the subject matter covered in this database is very timely and of interest to both students and faculty, this will be a good addition for academic libraries serving lower-level undergraduates. Recommended.
