Alternative Lending
This volume explores how alternative lending compares to traditional lending, the relative risks of both, and if traditional lending should be made more accessible. A series of essays are arranged in a pro versus con debate across four compelling chapters. Discussions look at the benefits and costs of payday lending and peer-to-peer lending is an effective alternative, as well as the potential and limitations of global microlending for bringing borrowers out of poverty. Essay sources include William J. Clinton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Susan F. Feiner, Drucilla K. Barker, The Economist, and the Center for Responsible Lending.
